Located in the center of the old city of Tianjin, the Guangdong Guild Hall was built in the 33rd year (1907) under the reign of Emperor Guang Xu of the Qing Dynasty. The unique building of the Chinese traditional rectangular courtyard is a rare art treasure of wooden architecture. In 1912 Sun Yat-sen, forerunner of the Chinese, revolution, once made a speech there. And now it has been turned into the Tianjin Theatre Museum. Its original main hall and accompanying halls are used for exhibitions of the History of Chinese Opera and the History of Tianjin Opera.
