If a city has no history or culture, even if it has built many new buildings, it still is pale. Old building or house itself is a living city culture. "Old house" has its own "life and death" as well as its own "spirit and soul".

Tianjin, known as the international building exposition, has 872 historical buildings of nine countries including Britain, France, the United States and Russia with an area of 1.56 million square meters.
Tianjin construction is of unique architectural style and varied architectural art. Here, we select some landmarks and representative landscape architectures for the vast number of travelers to savor.
The predecessor of the house is former residence of Huang Rongliang, modern Chinese diplomat. In September 2002, Zhang Lianzhi CEO of Tianjin Yueweixian Industrial Investment Group spent 30 million to buy it and transformed it into a porcelain building.
The building was designed by Zhang Lianzhi personally who adopted his collection of many years as building materials including tri-colored glazed pottery of tang, more than 600 million pieces of ancient porcelain, more than 13000 pieces of ancient porcelain plate, more than 300 stone statues of various dynasties, more than 300 pieces of white marble stone lions, more than 300 porcelain cat pillow of Ming and Qing dynasties and more than 20 tons of crystal agate. It was the decoration of Huang Rongliang's former residence.
On 3rd September,2007, porcelain house officially opened to the public which immediately became a landmark of Tianjin. On September 23, 2010, Huffington Post of the United States selected 15 global unique design museums with the Louvre in Paris, Denver art museum and China porcelain house all on the list.
Xi Kai Church
Xi Kai Church is located on No. 11 of Xining street, built from August 1913 to June 1916, and is one of the largest Catholic churches of French Roman architecture style in Tianjin and in north China at large.
Horizontal hall of the church and rectangular church constitute a cross arcade, the door adopts the arch form. And on the altar in the main hall on both sides from the main entrance to the bottom of the dais there are two rows of 14 columns (7 pieces in each row) forming a tee existent. Indoor octagonal dome roof and side window glass embedded in color painting. Wall paintings are all over the Interior wall which is beautifully decorated and full of mysterious air. There is a tower at right and left of entrance of Xi Kai church.
Mass is carried out at 7:30 and 6:00 in the morning in Xi Kai church and there will be many cult throughout the day on every Sunday and the Catholic festival. And English sacraments provide service to the foreigners in Tianjin.
The building is located on No. 22 of Sima road of Nankai district. It is Tianjin municipal cultural relics protection unit. Built in Guangxu thirty-two years, the main building covers east building, north building, middle building, south tower, auditorium and etc. It is of brick or wood structure with two to four floors. The construction technique combines both Chinese and western characteristics.
Old site of French Consulate
The French consulate in Tianjin is open in 1861, the site is located in He Kou area. In 1900, it was burned down during the Boxers war. After the war the Qing government gave it as compensation to the French concession authorities as a consulate. After liberation the French consulate in Tianjin is cancelled ending its over ninety years of history in Tianjin.
The building was built in 1923, located in No. 2 Chengde road today and designed by the engineer Mu Le. Beautiful mountain flower is growing on stone steps, in flower pool on both sides and on the iron gate which is a typical French classicism construction. Now it is the survey and mapping office of Tianjin.
